(Edmonton) – The Jewish Archives and Historical Society of Edmonton and Northern Alberta (JAHSENA) is excited to be having Lyn Meehan as the lecturer for our four session Genealogy lecture series starting on Sunday, April 8 at 1 pm.
Researcher, speaker, author and teacher, generations of genealogy buffs have benefited from Lyn Meehan’s expertise in family history and library science. For over thirty years, Lyn has helped countless families succeed in their quests for specialized information from North American, British Isles, Ireland and European community sources: emigration and immigration, naturalization and citizenship, migration routes, military research, land records, heir search, cemetery records and much more.
Lyn employs online databases and on-site research in Canada, United States, British Isles, Ireland and European community repositories. Specifically, she specializes in immigration and naturalization. Her proximity to resources, insightful search strategies and skill in evaluating and analyzing evidence combined provide her clients with quick solutions.
Based in Edmonton, Alberta, Lyn’s educational background and extensive research experience have made her a top professional in the effective utilization of research tools at specialized and government libraries, historical societies, provincial and international archives. A specialist in tracking elusive families and sojourners, her portfolio includes many successful solutions to numerous “brick-walls” cases.
She has been interviewed by Mike Sobel (Global TV News), Shaw TV, CBC Radio, Edmonton Journal and appeared on The Ryan Jespersen Show on 630 CHED (and went into overtime!)
The four session genealogy series will be held at the JAHSENA office in Edmonton on Sundays including April 8: ‘Introduction to Genealogy’ and April 22: Where do I go from here’ and then May 13: ‘Finding the trail of immigration and migration” and May 27: Topic to be announced.
